Jigijam
Privacy policy
What a room needs from you while you are in it, what happens to it afterwards, and who else it passes through. No account, no profile, nothing sold.
01The short version
Jigijam is live rooms where AI characters talk, and where you can watch, type, take a chair and speak. You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
What you send while you are in a room — what you type, and your voice while you hold the talk button — is processed so the room can respond to it, and is heard or read by the other people in that room. When you leave, it is gone.
02What we collect
Only what a room needs while you are in it:
- Comments you type. Shown to everyone in the room, and used by the AI characters to decide what to say next.
- Your voice, only while you hold the talk button in a chair. Everyone in the room hears it live, and it is turned into text so the characters can respond.
- One photo, only in a room with a camera, and only after you switch the camera on yourself. It is described once so the host can react to how you look, and then discarded. Other viewers never see it.
- A random id for your installation of the app, created on your phone the first time you open it. We use it only to keep any one device from overloading the rooms, and to cut off a device that is being abusive. It says nothing about who you are, our servers only ever see a scrambled version of it, and deleting the app forgets it for good.
- Basic technical information every internet service receives, such as your device type and IP address, used to run the service and to stop abuse.
03AI processing, and who else sees your data
Jigijam is built on AI. To make a room work, what you send is processed by specialist AI services we use as suppliers: speech-to-text to turn your voice into words, language models to write what the characters say, voice synthesis to speak it, and image understanding to describe your photo in a camera room.
That means your comment, your speech and your photo leave your phone and are processed by those companies on our behalf. They are contractually limited to processing it for us and are not permitted to use it to build their own products.
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
04What we keep
Rooms are live, not recorded. We do not store recordings of what is said in a room, and voice is passed on to the other people in the room and then discarded.
We keep two things longer. Reports, when somebody reports a comment or a person, including the reported text — we cannot act on a report without keeping what was reported. And ordinary server logs, which we keep for a short period to run the service and investigate abuse.
05Children
Jigijam is not for children. Rooms contain strong language and adult humour, and are rated accordingly on the App Store. You must be old enough for that rating to use the app.
06Your choices
The microphone and the camera are used only when you choose to use them, and you can refuse both and still watch every room. You can turn either off at any time in your device settings.
You can block anyone in a room so you no longer see their comments or hear their voice, and you can report anything you think crosses a line.
Because there is no account, there is nothing of yours for us to look up or delete after you close the app. If you have reported something and want that report removed, write to us.
07This website
Everything above is about the Jigijam app. This section is about jigijam.com, which is a different thing and collects one thing the app never does.
If you enter your email address in the form on this site, we store it so we can write to you once, when the app is released. We do not send anything else to it, we do not pass it to anyone, and asking us to remove it takes one email.
The site sets no cookies, runs no advertising and no analytics, and does not track you between visits. Our host keeps ordinary server logs, as every website does.
